Abstract

This paper discusses Piero Treves’ engagement with the work of Guglielmo Ferrero. It takes two standpoints: the personal connection between the two men, and Ferrero’s position vis-à-vis the main themes of Treves’ exploration of the history of the historiography on ancient Rome.
