In the Italian language the pervasiveness of the environmental theme is reflected in a continuous production of texts that propose registers that are even very distant from each other. These texts have in common a lexicon characterized by borrowings and calques from other languages, in particular English. This work proposes an overview of the main integral and adapted loanwords present in the language of the environment and ecology, focusing on the characteristics of some lexemes, delving into their history and use.
